Wireless robot control using mobile platform

This bachelor’s thesis deals with design and implementation of an application for robot’s omnidirectional movement control using mobile platform. Implementation includes an Android application, used as user interface, as well as robot–side Python program for controlling movement and sending RTP stream to Android application. User can control robot’s movement using two virtual joysticks. Raspberry Pi was used as the control unit. The application has security module. Pipeline-based multimedia framework named GStreamer was used to implement RTP steaming. This paper describes necessary theory first and then introduces basic building blocks used in creation process of the application.

This application allows user to create virtual fashion shows based on videos in an interactive environment. The client application is implemented using the Adobe Flash platform and communicates with the CMS Drupal using services. The application is integrated with many technologies, such as online user communication using the XMPP protocol or HD video streaming. The aim of this thesis is to design and implement a basic application for the user part of the educational platform based on the requirements of FEDEVEL s.r.o. The theoretical part of this thesis focuses on the analysis of existing solutions and the current state of the system in the company. It also describes the possibilities of creating a web application and describes multiple AWS services. The created application will form the basis for a new company product that will help instructors build their own brand of proffesional courses and provide a modern educational platform for their students.
